I dropped in a k n filter and all of a sudden i have just a touch of turbo lag that i haven t had since changing to shell 93 octane.
Modified air box.
The air box its self doesn t look too restricting other then the 2 ventures.

I ll drive it a bit and decide if the new filter is staying or back to the factory paper filter.
I modified another air filter box a while ago that was a little different too.
3zx7r6a kawasaki zx7r airbox ama 3 snorkel this is an ama superbike pressurized airbox for your kawasaki zx7r that brings air in from the standard right and left intake ducts and has a third snorkel that brings air in from between the top of the radiator and the bottom of the triple clamp.
Which i can only assume are there to reduce intake noise.
Has anyone cut out the baffle plate inside the upper air box that has the 2 venturies in it.
We cut out the indented areas of the shield so you could see through it to the filter but the shield was still there.
I got a great price on the k n 29 95 with free.
I m am thinking if i open up the upper air box by doing that.
A smaller hole will still let out sound and reduce chance of sucking in hot air from the engine bay.
This is the best way to go for the money spent.
It retains the modified air box while still making huge power gains.

1st by removing the internal restrictor funnel 2nd by adding two more air intake holes in the back cover 3rd by adding the k n replacement air filter.
Modified upper air box 09 xp.
A4 5 3 0tdi box and snorkel.
